THE GIFT

Have you ever received a gift and after opening it you failed to read the instructions or examine its contents thoroughly because you were too preoccupied with the appearance? You could carelessly underestimate the full potential of your gift. Well, you are not alone.

Over two thousand years ago, God our Creator sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to deliver us from a future marked for destruction and destined for eternal separation from God because of sin (romans 6:23), but very few people examined whether His gift was what it appeared to be.

Jesus came as a baby and not as a mighty warrior. He was born in a manger, wrapped in human skin and lived an ordinary life so we would know how much His Father and He loved us. Jesus is our personal gift from God to deliver us from sin. (John 3:16-17)

God’s gift came with instructions. All through the Scriptures, especially the Gospels, we are told how to be our best after accepting Him. First, we should BELIEVE Him (Acts 16:31). Do you believe Him? Then we should accept Him, learn all we can about Him (Romans 10:9-10), obey Him, and tell everyone about Him, the gift that keeps on giving.
